Solid-state relay module


SM-SSR

16-channel expansion module providing silent switching with solid-state relays — primarily for controlling lighting and shutters.

Unlike the mechanical relay module, there are no moving parts here: switching is completely silent, click-free, and lifetime is not limited by mechanical wear. In return, a channel can carry a smaller current.

CAUTION — HIGH VOLTAGE, RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK! The module switches 230 VAC mains voltage. Installation may only be done by a qualified person, in a closed electrical or control cabinet, in a de-energized state.

What it is for

LED lighting

Today’s LED lighting circuits typically draw less than 0.3 A — well within the channel’s 2 A limit.

Shutter motors

A typical shutter motor draws about 1 A, and only during the 10–20 second movement.

Frequently switched circuits

Where several hundred switching operations occur per day, wear-free semiconductor switching is an advantage.

For higher-current loads (water heater, socket circuit, heating element) do not use the solid-state relay module, but the mechanical relay module, with appropriate external protection.

Addressing and setup

Addressing and setup in the app are the same as for the relay module: a unique jumper address for every module, and in the app the channel is added with the GPIO Output + I2C expander options.
